The Challenge

Cloudhouse is a pioneer in a new application virtualization technology that enables legacy windows applications to run on the latest operating system and in the Cloud. We are continuously improving our products and looking for innovative solutions to our customer’s problems so we’re looking to hire a creative engineer who loves analysing and solving difficult technology problems.

The engineering team works closely with the product and professional services teams to define and develop the features needed to capture, virtualise and deploy applications for our customers. Within the team we love to keep up to date with the latest engineering practices so we aim to keep the feedback cycles on new features as rapid as possible and follow a philosophy of continuous improvement. We write our products primarily in C# and C++ but we believe in using the right tools for the right job so we have the flexibility to choose the right technology or language to get the job done. Making good choices is crucial for your career, at Cloudhouse you will get time off to attend courses and conferences both in the UK and internationally. Last year we attended “Build Stuff LT” and we’d love to go again or try something else.

You’ll need to be:

  • Naturally comfortable working for in a small agile team with people who want to learn and develop together
  • A strong advocate of extreme programming, keen to test first and deploy often
  • Willing to exploit new technologies to deliver value for our customers

You’ll need commercial experience in:

Working in at least one of the following environments:

  • Lean, Kanban, XP or Scrum
  • Continuous integration

It would be nice if you had experience in:

  • Continuous Delivery
  • Windows Internals
  • WPF
  • Virtualisation Domain Knowledge
  • Desktop Application Development

Flexible working hours

We work 37.5 hours a week and are flexible on what time you start and finish, for example: 8:00am to 4:30pm 8:30am to 5pm 9:30am to 6pm with an hour break for lunch.

Your holidays

24 days plus Public Holidays per annum (rising by 1 day per year for each full year of service, to a maximum of 29 days) that includes 1 day for your birthday and 3 days over Christmas and New Year.
